Q&A: Google's Temkin says privacy is subjective



David Temkin, the director of product management for ads privacy and user trust at Google, says that privacy is a subjective concept and has a lot to do with transparency and control. He adds that Google designed its Federated Learning of Cohorts technology around “a certain conception of [privacy] that we believe is mainstream,” and wants to support small companies’ ability to advertise on the web.
