Charter Communications is partnering with Cherokee County, S.C., to bring broadband service to its 4,500 unserved locations in a plan that is subsidized by the federal Rural Digital Opportunity Fund. The county has contracted Charter to build 173 miles of infrastructure, with funds coming from the cable company and public entities.
