BET+ CEO Mills reveals plans for ad-supported tier

BET+, the over-the-top video-on-demand subscription service owned by BET Networks and Tyler Perry Studios, will debut on Sept. 19 and charge $9.99 a month. At launch, executives said the ad-free BET+ will house more than 1,000 hours of programming related to African Americans — including Perry’s library — and plans to release an original project almost monthly.
