Michael Fanuele is joining the Great Resignation.
After two years as the president of Media Assembly + Gale, Fanuele is headed to the startup world to lead brand marketing for ZenBusiness, a launch platform for entrepreneurs.
“There’s an agility that ZenBusiness has that is exciting versus more corporate environments,” Fanuele said. “If we are going to serve entrepreneurs, we need to meet that hustle with hustle of our own.”
Fanuele has over 20 years of marketing experience. A longtime agency executive, he was part of creative campaigns like Dos Equis’ “Most Interesting Man in the World,” and worked with clients including Arby’s, Cadillac, Charles Schwab, Unilever, The Cosmopolitan, The Economist and Volvo. He became chief marketing officer at General Mills in 2014, where he was part of the marketer’s agency review process. He left in 2017 and started his own consultancy, Talk Like Music, which led to him joining Stagwell’s Media Assembly + Gale as president in 2019.
“I don’t think I’ll bring a playbook of lessons from corporate America,” said Fanule. “I think we have a lot to learn from these entrepreneurs. For the last 15 years, ad agencies have preached the power of purpose to their clients. I think for entrepreneurs, that comes extremely naturally.”
